Ubi Workshop Unveils Premium Line of Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag Bags

We get it. These might not be for everyone. But if you’re looking for a high-end, fashion-forward, ultra-luxe item to show off your Assassin’s Creed fandom (and look great while at it), then the Ubi Workshop has a killer item for you. The Ubisoft boutique recently unveiled a premium line, starting with two stunning bags: the Assassin’s Creed Leather Messenger Bag and the Assassin’s Creed Leather Sailor Bag.

Yes, they’re not cheap. But both bags are made with Italian full-grain bovine leather, with authentic details and exquisite workmanship. And both bags are extremely limited: only 100 of each have been produced – so once they’re gone, they’re gone for good.

And who exactly are these bags for? “These bags have been created for hardcore fans and collectors who are interested in high quality and very limited products,” says Bruno Larose, Production and Operations Manager at Ubi Workshop. “We also wanted to offer a unique experience for fans, rewarding lucky owners with the highest quality and rarity with these premium bags.” In other words, these aren’t just great bags; they’re utterly unique collectors’ pieces that people might fight for, literally.

Working with leather was a clear choice when developing this premium line. But the team at Ubi Workshop had to then find the right designers to help develop these items. They chose the artisans at m0851, a Montreal-based global design house that focuses on using raw materials in natural ways. “After months of intense collaboration, we merged our original designs and their incredible use of Italian full-grain calfskin to create a delightful two-tone vintage look,” says Ubi Workshop artist Julia Hedrich. “The result is simply amazing!”

But don’t think this is purely a fashion statement that just happens to have a tenuous connection to the Assassin’s Creed brand. “Our philosophy is mainly game-centered,” Larose says. “We use assets from the game and generate fashionable products in order to extend the player’s experience in their day-to-day life.”

Note, for example, the messenger bag strap, which has the exact replica of Edward Kenway’s gun holder. The Black Flag details extend even further with the sailor bag, whose styling – down to the rope itself – is a direct reference to the nautical aspects of Assassin’s Creed IV. “These bags are thoughtfully created down to every last detail,” Hedrich says. “It is imperative that we always keep the game universe in mind, hence the Assassin’s Creed crest embossed on each bag.”

Ubi Workshop - Premium Assassin's Creed Bags

And because these are premium products, Ubi Workshop is going the extra mile to ensure a premium experience. “We take care of the delivery mumbo jumbo from A to Z,” Larose says. “Shipping, handling, related taxes, duty and insurance fees are on us for most countries around the world. What can we say, we love you guys!”
