E3 2014. Comic Con 2014. And the game’s first closed beta. It’s been a high-speed rush of a few months for The Crew. For starters, the driving MMO earned the pole position with a trunk full of awards at E3. The Crew then began a PC closed beta, and while the beta was wrapping up, the game sped into Comic Con 2014 with a hands-on demo open to anyone who visited the Ubisoft booth. Which, naturally, was a perfect time to pull over Creative Director Julian Gerighty so we could get fully up to speed on everything including lessons learned during the recent beta to what’s next for the game. Watch our video interview for all the latest on The Crew.

UPDATE (Aug. 8, 2014): Just announced, The Crew will have another closed beta, beginning on Aug. 25, 2014! More details here: thecrewgame.com/beta

The Crew will be available on PS4, Xbox One and PC on November 11, 2014.

He also ran multiple industry leading publications and websites including PlayStation: The Official Magazine, GamesRadar.com, PC Gamer and Newtype USA – but that’s all in the past. The real truth about Gary? He loves cats, he takes too many selfies on Facebook (according to one co-worker, at least), and he occasionally crochets. And now he’s helping share stories about Ubisoft’s amazing games and their incredible creators in his role overseeing the UbiBlog and other select Ubisoft social channels. That's a bit of a spoiled brat kind of comment, wouldn't you say? Neither Ivory Tower, nor Ubisoft, "owe" anyone a beta. Which, based upon your comment, you really just want a demo and don't really understand what a beta is supposed to be used for. If Ivory Tower feels like they need to test the Crew on either console, I'm sure they will. That being said, I was fortunate enough to play the PC beta and can assure you, along with Destiny, probably the best product I've played in beta form. I also used both the mouse/keyboard controls and the xb1 controller. This was great because I will probably buy it for the xb1. However, my mid tier gaming rig ran the beta beautifully. Most fun I've had in a racing game since PGR3 (and the underappreciated Blur). And I even got sucked into the story and want to finish that part of the game.
