A little while back we told you a next-gen Tetris was on its way. Well today we are pleased to announce Tetris Ultimate. Take your Tetris skills to the next level on the PS4 and Xbox One this summer, as the game hits its 30th anniversary. The PC version will follow in the fall. See the first teaser trailer here and keep an eye out for more details next week at E3.

Tetris Ultimate Announced

Take on six different game modes – Marathon, Battle, Power-Up Battle, Ultra, Endless and Spirit – with up to four people in Tetris Ultimate. Celebrate this momentous anniversary with new features and exciting visuals.

If you are attending E3, Alexey Pajitnov will be at the Ubisoft booth (South Hall, #1023) showcasing the game and signing autographs on June 10 from 2:00 to 3:00 PM. Tetris Ultimate will also be playable at the Uplay Lounge, located in The Standard hotel.

    Only 4 players?Tetris Splash did 6 online.I'm disappointed in the lack of game modes too.There appears to be no Cascade or Hotline Tetris. :(

    Tetris is such a simple game visually I wonder why it’s only coming on the most powerful consoles out there. Android, iOS, 3DS, Vita, all these are probably better candidates for that kind of games, I for one wouldn’t buy a console like that just to play such a simple game. Tetris was the first video game I ever played, and it was on that good old Game Boy :)
