Prince of Persia is a complete game and the ending is definitely the one we had in mind, literally, from day one. The Prince of Persia Epilogue (or DLC) is a special added bonus that goes on to illustrate events in the characters’ lives following the closure of the game. In fact, that’s basically the definition of an epilogue – it’s a passage that is not integral to the story but that gives an insight into the future of the characters.
The creative team behind Prince of Persia developed a story that they hoped would make players reflect upon the adventure that they had lived and why the story unfolded as it did. Sometimes, wrapping up all of the mysteries of a story is not the best way to conclude – we wanted to leave some doors open to mystery. There is a short narrative text at the beginning of Prince of Persia:
“The wind is free, but the sand goes where it is blown.
Unaware of the world around it, whirling on the breath of the Gods, at the mercy of the storm that engulfs it.
What is one grain of sand in the desert?
One grain amongst the storm?”
It was our hope that people’s interpretation of this text would change as they played the game and as they lived the adventure of Prince of Persia. What did this phrase mean to you when you first started, when did it mean when you finished? And, possibly, does your perception change once again once you play the Epilogue?

I'll never be buying any Ubi games again until dlc is released for PC!

Omigosh. I have played the epilogue over four times now. Guys, I am truly in love with the story line for this game and I can't wait to hear some news about a possible sequel.
Don't leave me without closure! This is driving me nuts!

Hey Ubisoft, good job for not releasing the Update for PC.
Just as you know, I sold my last game from you. And ,as a consequenses to your actions, will never buy any products again from you.
Maybe you will release someday a good game again which attracts the media and draws attention of potential players, but not with me.
Since you hired Ben Mattes as Producer for the PoP-saga, things went comepletly down. You screwed the Prince of Persia finale Two Thrones up. Don't deny it:

Farewell Ubisoft. And probably will be the last.

This is terrible. It's like dangling sweeties in front of a child then taking them away. WHERE'S THE PC VERSION????

'What is one grain of sand...'... well, my interpretation of that text has surely changed. Now I read it as 'Ubisoft doesn't care about its PC users, they are just a few grains of sand in the desert'.
So, even though you developers did a great job on this game, I'm going to stop caring about Ubisoft games as well. There are other developers/publishers out there who *do* care about their PC customers.

Please release this for PC too - many people do not have XBOX or PS3
Posted by sorenjensen, 2009-03-11 16:39:30
Can this only be accessed on the PSN directly through the PS3 then? (other than XBox of course) because my PS3 refuses to access the internet and the PSN won't even acknowledge the DLC when I search through my PC.
Special bonus or not, completed ending or not, PC users don't get to experience this? WTF Ubi? Come ON. I can't tell you what the phrase means to me now, because I don't have the DLC!! At first, the ending was offputting...but I figured the Prince had something up his sleeve. Not to mention something serious to answer for to Elika, as I saw in the DLC trailer. Oh, wait, I can't download the DLC, because Ubi didn't release it for PC. Silly me. Guess that what it means to me is that, as people have said and feel, PC users don't count. We're not important. Ubi, the game is gorgeous. The game is fun. I want to experience the epilogue, and Ubi's lame answer is, "Oh, go see it on your pal's PS2." Yeah, no thanks. PoP team, how could you do this? Don't you understand??
Posted by CellZero, 2009-03-18 06:23:07
omg i like the game but i want to see what happens next and what is with the ending like i want to see what happens with elika and the prince you have to make a sequel.

UBISOFT if you're reading this you should know that there are people in the world that can't aford to buy concoles and pay the bills for eletricity t the same time, but they can aford to buy a game for pc (you should know that almost all people in the world have pc's)
Posted by RiMwE, 2009-03-24 18:36:47
This doesn't even make sense. This isn't an epilogue since the story isn't finished at all, no matter how you look at it it's a sequel to the first game. It continues the (unfinished) main storyline, it doesn't "end" that story at all. I'm not going to be fooled by Ubisoft again, if they don't care about the "small percentage" of PoP fans that bought the PC version then we'll just invest our money in games from companies that do care.

The continued goodwill (and open wallets!) of PC gamers is yours for the taking IF you do the right thing and release DLC for the PC! It may not be the most profitable move but there are alot of us who wil pay for it so it won't be a total waste
of money. DO IT!!

I downloaded the DLC Epilogue and it wont pass the loading screen when I select new game.
I'm a Q.A. Tester so I went down the list and there is nothing I haven't tried. My Xbox is also a new Red Elite so it is not my system. I have heard of others having this problem and no one has a answer.
What should I do?
Posted by SinfulKnight, 2009-04-09 14:36:19
Have not made you on PC why? Because it are not wanted to believe me, that from financial respects.
Posted by princeepilog, 2009-04-15 18:10:39
WTH why not to PC many of us really like this game and buy it from the store. Why dont u take some more security like dawn of war 2, they have both steam and windows live on it so its nearly impossible to hack thru
Posted by qwearchangel, 2009-04-16 17:57:14
If there will be continuation (Prince of Persia 5 or something like that), how will we know from where it continues?
Posted by Omarovic, 2009-04-17 14:53:44
... because Epilogue is not on PC and not all PC gamers will buy X-BOX or PS 3 because of one game, which is good sure, but on consoles for lot of money.
Posted by Omarovic, 2009-04-17 18:52:54
... and I really hope, that it will be on PC and I ment, that consoles are for lot money not the game, if there is anyone who did not figured it out. I am sorry, but my mind is changing so there are my 3 comments consecutive.
Posted by Omarovic, 2009-04-17 19:05:15
Ubi, should be ashame of them selfs for leaving us outside in the cold like that.

Posted by pitbouncer3, 2009-04-19 15:04:09
Totally agree with everybody else. Why the hell not release a PC version? PCs owners are everywhere, their money as good as anybody else's. UBISOFT, this is a crap of a decision, whoever made it is stupid and haughty, and doesn't know the value of a dollar.
WE WANT THE PC VERSION (and damn sure we're ready to pay for it!)

I really loved the game AND the epilogue.
However a BIG request. Please make it more challenging and longer like POP Sands series. Epilouge and last few levels were the best. But again just wish they were a bit longer.
HARDCORE FAN who misses sands of time... :(

My pc can not handle this game but even though (Engineering Logos) I bought it because it is my favorite franchise .IF THE PC VERSION OF (Education Logo) DLC WONT BE RELEASED IT WILL BE A SHAME. Maybe you will release someday a good game again which attracts the media and draws attention of potential players, but not with me.

why did you launched the PoP Epilogue only for Xbox 360 and PS3? I mean there are also PC users on this planet who love the game and wish to play the epilogue!!!

I am really pissed of because i love prince of persia so much becuase i never get bored playing it and guess what i play it on pc and i expect ubisoft u have had enough of people moaning about this but it is really unfair because xbox users get the epilogue and i would say is a better ending to the first so please consider pc it would make alot of people happy including myself.
epilogue freezin on loading screen. tried download and lunch again. dont pass. so i look after answer in the internet. do you now how many people got the same problem?? too much. nobody knows what to do with that. I disappointed. feel robbed
I'm curious to when the second DLc will be available for the Ps3.
I remember I bought my Ps3 for this game because certain games just feels right with it. For example no real Final Fantasy fan would settle for less than Sony. ;)

I just finished playing the epilogue, after looking forward to conclude the rather dissapointing main game end. This felt so bad in an otherwise outstanding game, that I am seriously considering not to purchase any further game in the series. In fact, both the bitter after taste for both the main game and the DLC, leave a lot to be desired.
Let me explain myself. If I may quote the POP team as they note 'Prince of Persia is a complete game and the ending is definitely the one we had in mind, literally, from day one' I need to strongly point out that the conclusion behind a story should not be the kind of reality check we otherwise face in our every day life, with disappointments, let-downs and things going out our our control. Neither should be marketing and sales; I can appreciate the financial reasons of a conlusion to a story such as this, and the reasoning that it may generate more sales in the following series, but this overally spoils the story, to the point I'd create an account to this blog, something I'm doing for the first time myself, feeling the need to express this frustration and dissapointment.
Maybe I'm old fashoined, but since the days of old 8086's when the first 2D PoP was out, I was always looking at the game's end, when good guys win, and the hero gets the girl. Period. OK maybe a prelude to the next game? How about 'This is where we can find Ormazd, that's where we need to look for him, let's go' and allow for Ahriman to be beaten at a next game. The important point here is that this is an advanture fantacy game.
OK that may not be as inovative, or 'cool', but it's definately the reason the most successfull stories all have happy endings. No cliffhanging.
I feel so let down from this, especially thinking I got into the expence to get the PS3 itself for this game, I would definately ask for someone from the team to comment on if possible. And if I'm not pushing my luck, I would also appreciate the next story in the series to have a 'positive' conclusion. The only way for me to get drawn back in the PoP world though, would be to wait until games of the next/upcoming PoP games to confirm the 'Happy Ending' for that game - even if it's not really the ending, but the prequel to another story.
I hope this doesn't feel like a flame, cause I was not meant to be one. Just an honest opinion from a gamer which been following this series of games since it was coded in 8bit.
With kind regards,
Menace

I have seen the first Prince of Persia game, the classic one which inspired the new Prince of Persia series. Well, it's good but of course the graphics isn't that excellent compared to the newer series. The Prince of Pesia is very engaging. The storyline is great.
