Far Cry 4 – Vice Dev Diary & Quest for Everest

First the dev team headed to the Himalayas. And now you can too, thanks to a spectacular contest that offers one winner the chance to ascend Everest to become the first person to play Far Cry 4 on the majestic mountain itself.

But before we get to the contest, take a look at this three-part video series. Working in collaboration with VICE, two members from the Far Cry 4 development team at Ubisoft Montreal traveled to Nepal to get an inside look at the region that inspired the setting for the game. The results were eye-opening: the trip not only left a lasting impression on Narrative Director Mark Thompson and Production Manager Philippe Fournier, but it literally changed the game. When they returned from Nepal, Thompson realized their Kyrat was essentially a “Disney” version of the region and they went back to the drawing board. It wasn’t just a life-changing experience, but it was a game-changer as well.

If you want to have your own life-changing experience, Ubisoft also announced the Quest for Everest contest. All you have to do is submit a video application showing us why you’re the most qualified for the trek. Check out the video below for more info, then head over to www.farcrygame.com/questforeverest for full details and rules.

Note: Contest is open to US only, must be 21 or older. No purchase necessary, void where prohibited. There is inherent risk of death and significant injury to persons and property associated with the Quest for Everest experience and by participating, winner understands and assumes this risk.
