Esports fans rejoice! Rainbow Six Siege is returning to the ESL UK Premiership for two new seasons, and things are getting started right away.
The new winter season of the ESL UK Premiership will see eight PC teams compete for a massive £10,500 prize pool across online competition and a LAN final later in the year. Of course, only the best teams will be able to compete in the competition, which is why every spot in the Premiership will be decided in open qualifiers.
The first open qualifier took place on September 12th, and Team Secret, who play in the Pro League and made top four at the recent Paris Major, were the most recognisable team to make it though, securing a spot in the ESL UK Premiership alongside three other teams. There were some amazing matches, and many of the teams that just missed out will no doubt be trying their luck in the second qualifier that will take place on September 16th at 2pm.
If you want to play for a spot in the league, where you could end up playing against Team Secret then you need to sign up to compete in upcoming qualifier right here. But be warned this will not be easy if the quality of matches from the first qualifier is anything to go by.
Once all eight teams have been decided the main competition will take place across October and November, with teams being split into two groups of four. Every team will play the teams in their group twice during the online stage, with the top team from each group qualifying for the LAN finals, which will take place on December 8th at ESL Studio 1 in Leicester. The two other teams playing at the finals will be decided with an online playoff between the teams that placed third through sixth. This means that only the two teams who finish bottom of their group will not have the chance to play for a LAN spot.
If all of this esports action has got you excited and you fancy giving it a go for yourself we have good news. From now until September 17th you can pick up Rainbow Six Siege with a massive 60% off over on the Ubisoft store.
