At the Rainbow Six Siege Year 2 Season 3 Pro League finals in Sao Paulo, Brazil over the weekend, Ubisoft showed the first gameplay of Year 2’s final expansion White Noise, and revealed the first details on Year 3 content. Here’s UbiBlog US’ Chris Watters with all the details on White Noise:
So that’s the new map, Tower, and three new operators. Dokkaebi with her mobile phone logic bomb, Vigil with his Electronic Rendering Cloak making him invisible to cameras and drones, and Zofia with her KS-79 Lifeline double-barrelled grenade launcher. Operation White Noise is now available on the PC test server, and will release on PC, PS4 and Xbox One in early December.
Here’s what we learnt about Year 3’s content:
Year 3 will kick off with Operation Chimera, a new kind of mission involving Quarantine and Biohazard – along with two new operators from France and Russia.
Season One will also see the launch of limited-time event Outbreak, the first major co-op event in Rainbow Six Siege history. Outbreak will run over four weeks, and will be free-to-play for all Rainbow Six Siege owners. It’ll also feature an exclusive set of cosmetics, only available during the event.
Returning to the more traditional model, Season Two will feature a new map set in Italy, along with two new Italian GIS operators.
This season will feature a complete rework of an existing map, with big changes to art direction and level design. We’re told the essence of the map will remain the same, but the gameplay and tactics will be entirely different. The two new operators will be from the UK’s Scotland Yard and the US’s Delta Force.
Along with an entirely new map set in Morocco, this season will feature two new operators from the Morrocan GIGR.
Check out the current roadmap for Year 3, above. Full details of Year 3, Season One’s Operation Chimera and Outbreak will be revealed as part of the Six Invitational 2018 in February next year.
