For Honor Free Weekend starts August 10th

Weekends are great. Free is great. For Honor is great. So why not combine the three? Well, starting on August 10th, we’re doing just that – with a For Honor Free Weekend.

If you’ve got a PS4, an Xbox One or a PC, you can get full access to the game for the princely sum of nothing. This includes five multiplayer modes, a campaign playable either solo or with a friend through online co-op, and the entire roster of heroes and maps that have bulked up over the six months since the game launched.  New players will be able to pre-load the game starting August 8th on PlayStation 4 and Uplay.

Alongside this exciting weekend of freeness, there will also be discounts on For Honor’s Standard and Gold Editions through digital stores. So if you can’t bear to say goodbye to For Honor come Sunday night, you’ll be able to pick up the full version at a reduced price and see your progress carry over.

The free weekend leads up to the launch of Grudge & Glory, For Honor’s third season and its biggest update to date (detailed here). Season Three starts on August 15th across all platforms and will bring new heroes, new maps, ranked play and a wealth of gameplay updates – detailed here. The new maps, ranked play and gameplay updates will be free for all players at the start of the season – with the two new heroes (the Highlander and the Gladiator) available free for Season Pass holders.  Other players will be able to unlock those heroes in-game from August 22nd for 15,000 Steel (For Honor’s in-game currency.)

As if that wasn’t enough, this weekend sees the finals of the ESL For Honor Hero Series, the first international For Honor tournament. If you’re interested in checking out some top-tier competitive For Honor play, tune into the For Honor Season 3 Live Event: Grudge & Glory Reveal on twitch.tv/forhonorgame on August 12th at 7pm BST.  This live stream will also feature the first live gameplay of Season 3’s new Heroes and maps.

Enter the chaos of a raging war as a bold knight, brutal viking, or mysterious samurai, three of the greatest warrior legacies. For Honor is a fast-paced, competitive experience mixing skill, strategy, and team play with visceral melee combat. The Art of Battle, For Honor’s innovative control system, puts you in total control of your heroes, each with distinct skills and weapons, as you fight for land, glory, and honor.
