Assassin’s Creed Syndicate – 9 Cool Secrets from the Demo

By now, chances are you’ve seen videos and read details about the Assassin’s Creed Syndicate hands-on demo we brought to E3 2015 and San Diego Comic-Con. Putting players in control of Jacob Frye, it tasks them with clearing out an enemy gang stronghold before chasing down a Templar named Bloody Nora. It seems straightforward, but as with all the missions in the game, there are many ways to accomplish your goals, though not all of them are immediately apparent. Wandering off the rails reveals that there’s a lot of room for exploration and experimentation – as well as a lot of cool stuff you might not see if you just head straight to your objective. In this video, we highlight nine things we found by doing a little sightseeing, and tackling the demo in… unconventional ways.

As it turns out, there’s a lot to discover about Assassin’s Creed Syndicate that the demo doesn’t specifically point out. For example, you’ve probably seen that shooting a poison dart into a flaming barrel drives surrounding enemies crazy, but multi-kills – achieved by staggering two or more enemies and then killing them all at once in an elaborate execution scene – are a much more brutal way to dispatch them. Bloody Nora can be killed before the climactic brawl, bodies can be removed from hiding, and there’s even a huge facsimile of St. Paul’s Cathedral that’s easy to miss if you’re not scouring the streets for things to climb. We’ve captured these things and more in the above video, and you can discover them for yourself when Assassin’s Creed Syndicate comes out on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One October 23, and PC this fall.
